Banyak orang mengatakan bahwa marketing merupakan ujung tombak sebuah perusahaan. Tak peduli besar atau kecil, segala jenis bisnis akan sangat bergantung oleh cara kerja telemarketingnya. Semakin banyak divisi marketing dapat menjual kepada pelanggan akan semakin sukses sebuah perusahaan. Orang yang bertugas sebagai divisi marketing sendiri memiliki tanggung jawab meliputi penjualan dan berupa layanan after sales.
Apa Yang Dimaksud Telemarketing?
Seiring kemajuan teknologi dan perkembangan jaman, dunia marketing mengalami perkembangan. Kegiatan marketing dewasa ini tidak hanya dilakukan melalui secara langsung seperti di pusat perbelanjaan atau dari pintu ke pintu (door to door). Sekarang kita akrab dengan istilah telemarketing. Prinsip cara kerja telemarketing sebenarnya sama saja dengan staf marketing pada umumnya. Yaitu memiliki tugas untuk memberikan informasi kepada calon pelanggan ataupun kepada pelanggan yang sudah lebih dulu engaged dengan produk atau layanan.
Umumnya telemarketing adalah orang yang dipekerjakan oleh perusahaan melalui perusahaan jasa outsourcing. Dengan tugas utama untuk dapat melakukan potensi-potensi penjualan yang mungkin dicapai oleh perusahaan. Umumnya bekerja sebagai customer service menanggapi keluhan-keluhan ataupun melakukan “prospek” pada calon pelanggan.
Skill Yang Wajib Dimiliki Seorang Telemarketer
Seperti yang sudah disinggung diatas, seorang telemarketer merupakan tulang punggung utama dalam setiap perusahaan. Para telemarketer yang sukses memiliki beberapa keahlian yang sangat mendasar namun bermanfaat untuk keberhasilan penjualan suatu produk atau layanan dalam perusahaan.
Selain itu menjadi seorang telemarketer bukanlah hal yang gampang. Dimana membutuhkan Kesabaran dan memiliki mental untuk berbisnis yang cukup tinggi. Sebagai gambaran adalah bagaimana meyakinkan pada calon pelanggan untuk membeli produk yang Anda tawarkan. Akan ada banyak hambatan dalam melakukannya akan tetapi kemampuan untuk mendengarkan adalah modal awal yang bagus. Selain itu ada beberapa skill lain yang wajib dimiliki yaitu :
- Berbicara dengan jelas
- Memiliki Nada suara serta artikulasi yang baik
- Cukup bersahabat dengan pelanggan
- Memiliki perbendaharaan kata yang luas dengan baik
- Memiliki pengetahuan yang luas tentang produk yang ditawarkan
Outbound Telemarketing
Salah satu istilah telemarketing yang sering kita dengar adalah outbound marketing. Yang dimaksud dengan outbond marketing adalah dimana para telemarketer wajib untuk secara terus menerus melakukan kontak dengan calon pelanggan yang sekiranya berpotensi untuk menggunakan produk baik berupa barang ataupun jasa yang ditawarkan. Informasi yang didapat bisa berupa dari database yang dimiliki perusahaan dari survey ataupun data pelanggan atau bisa juga dengan membeli informasi tentang pelanggan dari perusahaan media dan sebagainya.
Inbound Telemarketing
Sebaliknya, jika outbond telemarketing mewajibkan karyawannya untuk bergerak aktif terhadap pelanggan atau calon pelanggan. Maka inbound telemarketing adalah strategi yang diterapkan dengan cara menunggu telepon dari calon pelanggannya. Sebagai contoh, pada beberapa tayangan iklan alat olahraga ataupun perabotan rumah tangga di sebuah stasiun TV akan memberikan iklan produk.
Jika Anda meminati produk tersebut maka Anda akan diarahkan kepada nomor customer service. Setelah menghubungi nomor tersebut, telemarketer akan menjalankan tugasnya untuk memberikan informasi tentang barang yang diminati. Membahas tentang kelebihan apa saja yang akan didapat. Disinilah keahlian seorang telemarketer diuji. Dimana dia harus meyakinkan konsumen tersebut untuk mengkonversi sebuh leads penjualan barang menjadi sebuah pendapatan terhadap barang tersebut.
Contoh SOP Percakapan Telemarketer
Hampir semua perusahaan membutuhkan tenaga telemarketer. Untuk dapat memenuhi permintaan serta pelayanan para pelanggan, perusahaan menerapkan SOP untuk memberikan layanan yang sama rata terhadap setiap pelanggan. Ini juga sebagai alat untuk mengukur kinerja para telemarketer dalam menangani telepon dari pelanggan.
Ada banyak SOP yang dapat diterapkan pada telemarketer seperti percakapan yang direkam untuk dapat mengevaluasi kinerja serta membuat strategi agar layanan yang diberikan menjadi lebih baik dari sebelumnya. Ada beberapa SOP lainnya adalah :
- Memberi Salam
Semua perusahaan nampaknya mewajibkan memberi salam pada setiap SOP telemarketing mereka. Ini penting karena setiap pelanggan harus diperlakukan secara ramah.
- Menanyakan Informasi Dasar tentang Pelanggan
Langkah selanjutnya adalah dengan menanyakan informasi dasar seperti nama, umur, pekerjaan dan keluhan atau barang yang ingin dibeli oleh pelanggan. Ini penting untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan pelanggan, serta melacak jika terjadi pembelian.
- Bertanya Singkat, Jelas dan Padat
Selain menanyakan informasi dasar. Telemarketer memiliki kewajiban untuk menanyakan keperluan pelanggan. Namun SOP-nya adalah bertanya secara singkat, jelas dan padat. Sehingga dapat melayani banyak pelanggan tanpa memakan waktu yang lama
- Durasi Telpon Harus Singkat
Banyak perusahaan yang menetapkan durasi telpon hanya sekitar 3-5 menit. Hal ini terkait dengan efisiensi. Mereka beranggapan jika durasi terlalu lama tidak akan efektif dan akan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja telemarketer menjalankan tugas. Maka waktu yang ideal adalah 3-5 menit dalam menangani satu pelanggan.
- Wajib Memahami Produk Dengan Baik
Yang terakhir dan yang paling penting adalah setiap telemarketer wajib memahami produk yang ditawarkan dengan baik. Sehingga pelanggan mendapatkan informasi secara jelas. Diharapkan setelah telpon ditutup pelanggan tadi akan melakukan pembelian barang yang ditawarkan.
